No. I always tell people there are 3 main reasons when you should get an attorney:
1st: You have tried everything and still can’t get it resolved.
2nd: You have been sued.
3rd: It is too complex or you just don’t want to mess with it.
All of these are good reasons and I am sure there are many more, but the short answer is there is nothing stopping you from settling your car crash case yourself. There are several issues which you need to consider before deciding whether to settle and for how much.
